Deer Creek is known as one of the highest rated schools in Oklahoma, however did you know they are also one of the lowest state and federally funded schools?
The need is real: When comparing area districts Deer Creek Schools receives $5,968.69 per pupil funding compared to the state average of $8,002.23! The federal CARES act did provide some supplemental funding this year, however, again Deer Creek was second to last in funding at only $29.29 per student. These funds should assist Deer Creek with new challenges created by the pandemic, however, they will fall far short due to the funding distribution formula. Just a few miles away the Oklahoma City School District has received approximately $475 per student.
How you can help: This fundraising campaign will be used to supplement technology and other needs the district has related to the ever-changing environment the pandemic has created.
